My name is Hannah Thompson, and I am an undergraduate student at Hood College in Maryland. My areas of study are Art & Archaeology with a concentration in archaeology, and English with a concentration in literature. I am currently working for archaeologist, Dr. Thomas F. King, to create what is, essentially, a digital archive of his professional documents. I am also currently working on an independent research thesis focused on the Sumerian sociolect known as "Emesal."
I have a long-held passion for studying cultures and languages. My academic and professional interests include archaeology, historical sociolinguistics, and early writing systems. I am pursuing a career in archaeology and communications, and intend to pursue a higher degree in linguistic anthropology.
The purpose of this blog is to share my passion for archaeology and linguistics with fellow students and the interested public. My goal is to educate and engage others, and my hope is that those who visit my blog may educate and engage with me in turn.
